As a child, I remember making cards and presents for every Mother's Day... a beaded bracelet, paper necklace or painting. There is so much love that goes into a handmade creation.
At LBHQ we're not one to pass on a commercial opportunity, but often Mother’s Day can be so tacky, so we started brainstorming – what can we offer that is really special? What would we want to give our mums to represent the uniqueness of our creative childhood gifts?
A beautiful mug to drink beautiful tea from is one of life's simple joys, so we searched for ceramics that we loved. Looking to our networks of other small NZ business doing great things, we found Renee Boyd, who works exclusively with clay from her West Auckland Studio. 
Renee describes her style as delicate and minimal – treading the fine line between simple, timeless design, and unique pieces that have character and presence. It was the match we were looking for.
