Cacao Chai Hot Rum & Lime


When the southerly whips round the corner and frost fogs the windows, nothing beats wrapping your hands around a steaming mug of Cacao Chai. Our gently spiced, chocolate-kissed herbal blend already feels like dessert in a teapot; add a splash of dark rum and a squeeze of lime and it turns into the cosiest night-cap you’ll sip all season.

Ingredients (per cup)    

Libertine Blends Cacao Chai (loose-leaf 1 tsp / 1 tea bag)    
200ml just-off-boil water    
30ml Dark rum   
10 ml fresh lime juice (≈ ¼ lime)   
Optional: 1 tsp muscovado sugar or maple syrup

Method

Brew the tea – Place the Cacao Chai in your favourite mug (or a heat-proof glass), add the hot water, cover and steep for 5 minutes.

Sweeten (optional) – Stir in sugar or maple syrup while it’s still hot.

Finish & serve – Remove the tea bag/strainer, pour in the dark rum and lime juice, give it a gentle stir, then garnish with a slice of lime. Sip slowly, preferably by the fire.
